eteries. A particularly interesting object, dating from the Middle Neolithic Age was found along the road Căpleni-Cămin, near the Roman Catholic cemetery. Among several painted vessels, bowls and large storage vessels, a decorated pot was also found. The decoration is a human figure in relief, with upraised hands. These human figures are rare, and indicates the special role of the vessels, with sacral meaning. At the site Cozard, a large settlement was identified by archaeological research, dating from the end of the Middle Neolithic and the beginning of the Late Neolithic. It spread on both sides of the railway line Carei-Satu Mare. Two other settlements, dating from the Late Neolithic were identified on the bank of the Posta brook, as well as on a small hill near the Mirgheş brook, towards the Crasna Canal. Traces of Neolithic habitation have been detected too at other sites on the territory of Căpleni: in Jeler Pasture, in the place called Macskás and in Bodor Valley. There are funeral finds in this area, too, dating from the Neolithic Age. Inhumation graves with bones, laid in crouching position were found in Reök-tag and at Carei-Cozard (pit no. 2). There are few finds dating from the Eneolithic (Copper Age). They are assigned to Tiszapolgár and Bodrogkeresztúr cultures. Finds of this type were identified at the sites: Căpleni-Malul Crasnei, Căpleni-Centrul Cantonului, at the road Carei-Căpleni, and at the railway Situl Cápleni-Király-földek - vedere aeriană Kaplony-Király-földek - légifelvétel The site Cápleni-Király-földek - aerial view 5
