The Roman Catholic Monastery of Sf. Anthony of Padua

here, at the new location. The church was dedicated after the reconstruction to The Birth of Jesus Christ but it was changed later to St. Anthony of Padua by Alexander Károlyi. From the interior, it is worth to mention the fragments of the Baroque furniture, the oil paintings on canvas representing the stations of the Passion, and especially the bronze sarcophagi of the family crypt. The monastery library was also preserved, holding a collection of old books of great value. The monastery church functioned as a parish church for several decades during the communist regime, but the Franciscan monks returned to Căpleni in 2008. The second Roman-Catholic church of the village, dedicated to St. Joseph, is a recent construction, dating from 1999. There are at least four chapels in the cemetery, and a monument dedicated to the memory of the Franciscan monks of Căpleni.
