Amplasată îrrtr-o regiune mirifică

Mare, in imediata vecinătate a Maramureşului, localitatea Apa reprezintă o zonă încărcată de istorie. Faptul că a fost locuită din cele mai vechi timpuri este dovedit de depozitele de bronz I (podoabe şi arme) descoperite aici la începutul secolului al XX-lea. Pentru prima dată, ea este amintită într-un document ce datează din anul 1215. Mai târziu, este menţionată ca fiind în proprietatea familiei Móric din Medieş (o altă localitate din acea regiune). Datorită apropierii de centrul domenial de la Medieşu Aurit, localitatea Apa a fost supusă mai multor atacuri armate. Cele mai devastatoare consecinţe le-a avut raidul tătarilor din anul 1717, care au pustiit această zonă. în secolul al XVIII-lea, Apa devine proprietatea mai multor familii nobiliare, iar în secolul al XIX-lea, familiile Szent-Iványi şi Berenczei-Kováts devin stăpânii ! mai însemnaţi ai acestei localităţi, conacele lor păstrându-se până în zilele noastre.

Motivul principal pentru cate localitatea Apa a rămas în memoria rdmânilor este acela că aici s-a născut în 22 ianuarie 1852 marele patriot Vasile Lucaciu (1852-1922), personalitate marcantă a mişcării politice româneşti din Transilvania.

Apa is situated in the wonderful region of the eastern part of Satu Mare County, near the border with Maramureş County. It was populated from the ancient times, proved by bronze deposits (arms and jewels) discover ed here. The settlement | was mentioned in written records in 1215 for the first time. Later, Apa became part of the Móricz' propriety with the center at Medieşu Aurit. Because of the proximity of estate center from Medieşu Aurit, Apa was destroyed multiple times in war-times. The most sever devastation was made by during the tartars' attack in 1717. During the 18th century, Apa was owned 9 by several aristocratic families, while, in the 19th century, Szent-Iványi and Berenczei-Kováts families became the most important owners of the village. Their residences, built in the 1800s are still preserved. The main historical importance of the village of Apa is given by the fact that here was born Vasile Lucaciu (1852-1922), the great patriot and outstanding personality of the Rromanian political movement in Transylvania, on 22nd of January 1852.
