Norbert Lőrincz: Marea Unire reflectată în presa maghiară sătmăreană în 1918
MAREA UNIRE REFLECTATĂ ÎN PRESA MAGHIARĂ SĂTMĂREANĂ ÎN 1918 Norbert LŐRINCZ Abstract: (The Great Union reflected in the Hungarian press from Satu Mare during 1918) The current study will focus on the effects that took place in Satu Mare city and County before and after the Grand Unification proclamation that took place in Alba Iulia in 1918 on the 1st of December. This article will focus mainly on the description and illustration of this event in the local media, analyzing the reaction of the Hungarian population of the city and county about this endeavor. The main newspapers on which we will focus on are the following, „Szamos, Szatmár és vidéke, Szatmári Hírlap, Szatmári Újság, Szatmári Gazda” The study of these newspapers shed an interesting light on the events that took place after the chaotic days following the armistice in November of the same year. The newspapers have indicated within their articles that the Hungarians all desired peace however they feared the events that will follow, after the signing of the armistice. It is also very important to note that the events that took place in Alba Iulia on the 1st of December were not that well covered in the local Hungarian press. This may be due to the reasons that, newspapers were not scheduled to be released on the exact day of the 1st of December 1918 or simply due to the fact that the Hungarians even after the event took place did not grant a major significance to this General Grand Assembly and awaited the results of the peace treaties that were yet to come. This article therefore will try and analyze various newspaper topics about our subject in question and will conclude if the local Hungarian press was simply not that impressed about the Grand General Assembly that took place in Alba Iulia and misinterpreted this catalyst of an event that will set the tone for the peace treaties deciding the fate of the events of the Great War. Articolul de faţă este menit să analizeze presa maghiară locală din perioada Marii Uniri, mai exact lunile noiembrie, decembrie şi ianuarie, astfel încât să putem puncta cât de important a fost pentru cotidianul local maghiar acest eveniment, câte pagini sau articole i-au alocat şi, desigur, în ce nuanţă au surprins Marea Adunare Naţională de la Alba Iulia din 1 Decembrie 1918. Evenimentele Marelui Război Mondial au schimbat complet harta politică a continentul european. Războiul Mondial a avut efecte majore şi asupra României care dorea să îşi îm-Satu Mare - Studii şi Comunicări, nr. XXXIV/II, 2018, p. 205-210.
