The MPP officials The international relations of the MPP The international relations of the MPP started as early as before the changes of 1989. Many a leading person of the nowadays MPP, having worked at that time in the Committee for Legal Protection of the Hungarian Minority, acted as mediate between the Czecho-Slovak and the Hungari an illegal opposition. The close ties to the Hungarian op position leaders were not torn after the changes in 1989, thus, it is natu ral that the most vivid international relations of the MPP are oriented to the Alliance of Free Democrats and to FIDESZ in Hungary. Fruitful contacts have been built up also with the F.D.P., and with the Fr. Naumann Foundation. We are in per manent contact also with the Liberal International, with the ELDR Federati on, and other European and Ameri can liberal and democratic parties, institutions and non-governmental or ganisations (e.g. the National De mocratic Institute, the Helsinki Citi zens Assembly, the European De mocratic Forum etc.) In the previous election period, our Members of the Federal Parliament, Nóra Sándor and Károly Gémesi, we re elected in the Czechoslovakian delegation to the European Parlia ment and to the Council of Europe, respectively. Péter Huncik and Károly Gémesi to ok part in the Geneve International Conference on national minorities and ethnic groups in July 1991 and the same persons were present at the Moscow CSCE Meeting in Septem ber 1991. ' Our members participate regularly in the political seminar programme of the Naumann Stiftung in Sintra, Por tugal, and in programmes of other li beral foundations and institutions. Under the cicumstances, we consi der the improvement of our internati onal contacts as a very important thing.
