name was Janka Hoffmann. A well-known, famous member of the family was Imre's sister, Böske Simon, beauty queen of Hungary, who became - in 1929 - Miss Europe. Imre Simon graduated as electric engineer from the Technical College Mittweida, Germany, in 1928. Thereafter he was working at the Salgótarján Machine Factory for a long time. In 1944 he was inmate of a forced labour camp. He was shot in the leg, the marks of which he bore for a lifetime.
