KATALIN CSÍK MEGYEI KIVÁNDORLÁS 1850-1910 KÖZÖTT Abstract: [Emigration from Csík County between 1850-1910] In the last decades of the 19 th Century in Europe and in Transylvania as well a lot of inhabitants decided to leave their homeland in hope of finding a better life abroad. How many people left from my homeland? Nobody knows it. No documents had been found only memories remained. The data from the local archive had been lost in the flights during the two world wars and the headquarter offices of the Chamber of Commerce had been burned. Why did people leave? Where did they go? How did they leave? - so many questions and we can find answers only in the newspapers and other publications of the time. This article is based besides the specialized literature and publications mainly on the facts living in the memories of the people. I've found authentic sources in the documentation library of the local Museum . These sources made possible, even in a very limited way, to present the economic and social changes which characterized the Szeklerland in the period between 1850 and 1910. May the study of the past serve as lesson for nowdays? Rezumat: [Migratia din judetul Ciuc in perioada 1850-1910] In ultimele decenii din secolul al 19-lea, in Europa, astfel si in Transilvania multi au päräsit pàmântul natal in speranta gäsirii unor conditii de trai mai décente. Câti au plecat din zona noasträ în acea perioadä, nimeni nu stie. Documente statistice nu mai sunt de gäsit, doar amintiri. Datele din arhiva orasului Miercurea Ciuc / Csíkszereda (magh.) au pierit în timpul celor douä räzboaie mondiale, sediul Camerei de Industrie s-a ars cu toate actele. In mod firesc se naste întrebarea: oamenii de ce au plecat, unde si cum au päräsit plaiurile natale? Räspunsul la aceste întrebari putem cäuta doar în presa contemporanä si în scrisorile unor personalitäti contemporani. Prezentül articol are la bazä, pe lângâ studiile çi articolele ziarelor contemporane, si datele din amintirile oamenilor rämase acasä. Surse autentice am gäsit în Miercurea Ciuc, în magazia Muzeului si în biblioteca documentarä. Aceste surse documentare au permis - chiar dacä în mod limitât - gäsirea si prezentarea acelor schimbäri economice si sociale, care au caracterizat secuimea în perioada 1850-1910. Poate prin studierea trecutului vom gäsi räspunsuri utile la întrebarile cotidiene. „Talán jobb lett volna máshol születni... De élni és meghalni - itt, csak itt!" Káinoki László: Északon A 19. század utolsó negyedében, Európában - így Erdélyben is - nagyon sokan vettek kezükbe vándorbotot, és indultak el szerencsét próbálni. Hogy szűkebb hazámból hányan mentek el? Ezt már senki sem tudja. Konkrét írásbeli dokumentumok nem maradtak fenn, csak emlékek élnek.
