ELŐSZÓ Örömmel írok előszót egy olyan kiadványhoz, melyben az olvasó a hazai és nemzetközi olimpiai mozgalom régi sikereit, kiemelkedő hőseit látja viszont az értékes fényképeken. Most látni igazán, mennyi mindenre kiterjedt Mező Ferenc, — nagy nevű elődöm — figyelme, amikor a hagyatékban kutatva egy egész albumot betöltő, értékesnél-értékesebb sporttörténeti fénykép-dokumentumra találtunk. Meggyőződésem, hogy a sportszerető olvasó, aki e szép kiadványt kezébe veszi, felmenti majd a korabeli fényképészeket a kezdetleges technika miatt, hiszen maradandó élményt kap a szép emlékek felidézése által Mint a Magyar Olimp'ii Bizottság elnöke gratulálok a kiadvány szerkesztőinek és gondozóinak, a Testnevelési és Sportmúzeum munkatársainak, és köszönetemet fejezem ki dr. Schmitt Pál a MOB elnöke PREFACE It is my pleasure to write the preface of a publication in which the readers can see again on the photos the old successes and the prominent personages of the Hungarian and the international Olympic movement. It is now that we can really appreciate the activity of Ferenc Mező — my famous predecessor -, so that we could find in his bequest such an amount of precious documents concerning the history of the sports that it has given the material of a whole album. I' m convinced that the sport loving reader who takes this beautiful book in his hand, will excuse the contemporary photographs for the primitive technic, since the recall of the nice memories givens an unforgettable experience. As president of the National Olympic Committee of Hungary, I congratulate the redactors and the administrators of the publication, the fellows of the Museum of Physical Education and Sport, and I express my thanks to the family of dr.
