Ifi The purely Romanian settlement counting 5300 inhabitants is situated 11 kilometres south-west from Nagyszeben, in the snow-covered mountains of Szeben. The local people were engaged in mountain sheep breeding and kept their ancestral traditions, which is reflected by the clothing of the shepherds in the picmre; the black sheepskin cap, the thick fur-coat and by the sheepskin waistcoat (kozsók) decorated with pearls. 33. Some rows of the market are named after the products sold there, such as the Pokrócipar (blankets) and Halpiac (fish market) Streets meeting at the end of the Árvaház Street. In the background of the picture the Fehér torony (white tower) is visible on the 418 metres high Bácsél Hill. 34.
