medical-professional requirements, based on uniformly regulated public health bases, is owing to Wehle Ferdinánd county chief medical officer. In the publication the author undertakes the comprehensive presentation of the events according to our present knowledge, shows the process of applications, operation and supervision, and the different attitudes of those affected. He analyzes the document -originally published in German- called the Directive for the Physicians of the Sopron Lieutenanc District, which served as the basis of realization, and also provides birth-death records relating to the county. RÉCSEI, BALÁZS: KAPOSVÁR IN THE MIRROR OF THE CENSUS TAKEN IN 1870, THE SUPPLEMENT OF THE RECORDS OF THE PUBLIC AND PRIVATE BUILDINGS The source elaborated by the author is a remarkable document of the town’s history because we have few data about Kaposvár from these years. With some exceptions, the buildings standing in 1870 were demolished long ago. The census of the houses reflects a state of the built environment of the town which was transformed or disappeared at a gradually accelerating pace in the following years. The original document has not been exploited yet, although the census was taken at a time when the 18th century building traditions were still alive. The town was still confined within territorial limits by the Esterházy manor. Due to Donner János, the constructions had begun on the right bank of the Kapos-channel only hardly more than a decade before, and this integral expansion had not been cut into two by the railway line opened in August 1872, which has affected the building in further territories and the street-network of the town since then. Due to the house-census, such town-historical data and information have come to light that provide a rather accurate image of the town. The census taken by street numbers is a very important source especially in the case of settlements which have suffered a document loss of such an extent - like in the case of Kaposvár as well- that the exploration and publication of each document or group of documents improves the acuteness of the overall historic image. Knowing the number of people living in the houses and the legal grounds of their stay there (family member, officer, tenant, servant) several conclusions may be drawn. Also, the publication reveals the further possibilities of a source-type which can be made extensive use of and may inspire new town-historical studies in connection with Kaposvár. DOMOKOSNÉ SZALAI, ZSUZSANNA: DOCUMENTS OF THE CELEBRATION OF THE QUARTER-CENTURY LORD LIEUTENANT’S AND THE SEMI-CENTENNIAL CIVIL SERVICE ACTIVITY OF COUNT JANKOVICH LÁSZLÓ OF PRIBÉR AND VUCHIN (SOURCE PUBLICATION) The source publication is the continuation of the one published in the 2011 Annual with the title: Count Jankovich László of Pribér and Vuchin, Lord Lieutenant of Somogy County 1860-1886. Career Sketch about a Somogy County Lord Lieutenant in the Mirror of the Documents. Our source publication presents the proceedings No.305/1885 of the quarterly honorary assembly of Somogy County Municipality Committee on 2 November 1885, which recorded the jubilee of Count Jankovich László of Pribér and Vuchin’s half-a-century long activity in public service and a quarter-century long activity as Lord Lieutenant. It also presents the archival documents related to the organization of the ceremony. CSÓTI CSABA: “A CAMPAIGN AGAINST THE CINEMAS IN KAPOSVÁR”-ANNO 1912 The author examines a slice of the cultural life and the consumption of culture in Kaposvár in the years preceding World War I. In relation to the public administrational measures against the cinemas 210
