Búlint Szabó: The Consequences of the Soviet-Yugoslav Dispute in View of a Functionary Conference In the House of Party Instructors in Kaposvár, a conference was held for the functionaries of bordertowns on 22 February 1951. The subject of the conference was the local effects of the more and more evolving Soviet-Yugoslav conflict. This study presents the wide range of elements of the contemporary local anti-Tito campaign at this conference. As a result cf the theme and character of this study - besides its uniqueness - it allows us to draw general conclusions about the effects of the Yugoslav conflict in Somogy. The examination of the surface and underlying operating mechanisms of the party forum goes beyond local histories. It can also throw light upon how -in the strict sense of provinciality- imperial politics trickled down onto the local level. Anita Vonyó: Chapters from the History of the Elementary School in Kaposfured The study is attempting to present the colourful nature of the relationship between the school and the local society, meaning how the attitude of the community towards culture actually affected education and tuition in the school. The „struggle", which is easily reconstructable based on the sources found in the archives, is not unknown in our present days either. The author emphasizes the political and sociological processes that enabled the foundation of a regular elementary education system starting the first part of the 1700s. We can get an insight into the most significant contemporary education regulations and measures. After researching this troubled period of Hungarian history the author considers the operation of the school in Kaposfured successful, since it was able to preserve and execute its most important mission, that is to provide institutional education for the children of the town. • ¡ ¿ncilibnoo :1B tfbtvov, • >• itfil to isqsqewan inioj wTf •• • go ssyisj -g-jstrito gnome- v)1 '"' " •
