Szántó László: Some information to the political feature of the society of Kaposvár, 1926. Resume Premier Bethlen István, making preparations for the 1926 national assembly elections, called upon the Lord Lieutenants of the counties in highly confidential ordinances to make a list of the subscribers to Budapest dailies. With the help of the registration in Somogy and the data of the contemporary name-lists of the elections we examined how the local society of the county seat and the larger villages related to newspapers of various ideological and political bearings. The newspapers representing the Christian national trend that prevailed in the 1920s and 30s took only the second place on the popularity list and most of their readers came from the circle of public servants and teachers. The most read papers were the national conservative liberal ones of long-standing traditions. The majority of their readers were made up of public and private officiais, people engaged in industry and different crafts and railway employees, but they were also popular with the lawyers. There were only a few subscribers to the liberal democrat dailies and to the ones in favor of the opposition. They were mostly read by shopkeepers, private officials and people engaged in industry and various crafts. Király István Szabolcs: The use of the tractor which played an important part in the development of agricultural techniques became widespread between the two World Wars. In spite of the troubles in obtaining and running them, the use of tractors became a general thing mainly on the big and middle estates between 1925 and 1930. For the use of the tractors a lot was done by OMGF and its departments ami the expert papers. In the Köztelek there are several articles to be found about the expenses of plowing with horse, steam engine and the tractor. The tables of the study sum up the use of tractors in Hungary and in Somogy county, the increase of the proportion of the land plowed by the tractor. The American makes had a decisive role in this process. We can get a thorough picture of the FORDSON, the McCORMICK and the HSCS tractors. When it comes to running these machines it is a reoccuring problem the lack of skilled workers. The technical development of the Hungarian agriculture came to a halt between the two World Wars, which can be explained by the surplus labor too besides the lack of capital. The contradictions of the technical development is well demonstrated by the 4th table. Lagzi István: The evacuation of Polish soldiers and volunteers from Hungary from the spring of 1940 till the fall of 1940. The author is one of the best experts and researchers of the topic in Hungary. In the course of his research, by uncovering the details he undertakes to write a comprehensive study. We come to know the process of the evacuation from the spring of 1940, the activity of the outstanding Polish military leaders in Hungary and the circumstances of how they got to the West. We can follow the ever-increasing pressure of the German diplomacy and the behavior of the Hungarian governmental bodies. Lagzi has published several studies of this topic, some can be found in the archival annuals called From the past of Somogy county.
