Commemorative wreath-laying at Balatonszemes on World Victim Day, February 22, organized by the Hungarian Postal Service; Celebration of World Telecom and Information Society Day at Diósd; Traditional Midsummer Night’s fire-jumping festivity at Hollókő, organized by the Museum Support Society; Celebration of World Post Day on October 9; Commemoration of All Souls’ Day by laying wreaths on the graves of the great figures of telecommunications history after restoring the graves and renewing cemetery leases; Marking of Radio Day at Diósd on December 1; Holding an Advent Salon at the Postal Museum; Provision of space in our auditorium for professional associations, societies and clubs belonging to our founders; Designing and running museum instruction programmes in Budapest, and at our rural exhibition sites, first of all at Balatonszemes; Participation in the 11th National Technology Museum Researcher Meeting in the Postal Museum and auditorium, as organized by the National Museum of Technology; Digitalizing the presentations made at the 140th anniversary of the Hungarian Postal Service memorial conference, working together with the Professional Association of Postal Workers; Offering group and individual guided tours at the Stamp Museum as well as special programmes for adults and children, on-site classes, and summer museum days for children; Summer day camp for children on two days a month announced in advance, similarly to 2007; Providing a venue and exhibition materials to accompany Hungarian stamp issues; Recommending subjects when plans are made to issue new stamps; Providing a venue for presentations made by new members of the Hungarian Philatelic Society (Mafitt) and for leadership meetings; Providing an appropriate exchange of information with the friendship circle established jointly with the Stamp Collectors’ Circle of Lágymányos (Budapest) and with programmes organized by the museum for persons interested in a higher level of philately; Participating in Museum Media Café programmes where participants are briefed on general museum information as well as on Stamp Museum programmes and events; Continuing the series of lectures entitled Conversing about museums, held on the third Saturday of each month, in keeping with a programme announced at the start of the year; Working together with postal service specialized secondary schools and facilities offering adult education, we will participate in specialized education programmes using Stamp Museum information; Placing a sign denoting the location of the Stamp Museum at the crossroads of Dob Street and Erzsébet Ring, to help guide the public to the museum; Assisting researchers from elsewhere by allowing them access to the collections of both of our museums. 227
