1920s, which, to boot, desperately needs restoration. However, restoration cannot be considered until it is protected from the elements. Meanwhile, the brick surface of the flooring at the exhibition site now emits so much dust that its replacement can no longer be postponed. The electric wiring also needs to be replaced. The museum has to be connected to the sewage network of the town, which also means replacing our single-space toilet facility, currently connected to a septic tank. The brick fence, parts of which have been reset over the years, has by now become a hazard to people walking by it on the street and needs complete renovation. Vehicles now parked in the open air need to go under a protective roof. The document was also amended to change the name of the Foundation. By altering its name from Foundation of the Postal and Telecommunication Museum to Communication Museum Foundation, we have joined the European postal museums that have changed the word postal in their names to communications. We are in the process of introducing the changes to our administration and management. The outstanding Foundation project for 2004 was enlargement of the postal facility at Balatonszemes, which included building a shed to serve as a garage for museum vehicles, completely renovating the historical stable, and building a new fence and gate. One reason this work was done was to provide appropriate surroundings in the courtyard for a memorial to telecommunications workers who were killed or suffered fatal accidents while 323
