performing their duties. The memorial was made by Ferenc Trischler, a sculptor from Pécs, who won a competition that we ran in 2003. The museums were inspected for labour safety, accident prevention, fire safety, and security. However, although changing off the fire-protection devices at the Stamp Museum is mandatory, in lieu of resources and guarantees, the work was not done. After evaluating the archive committee of telecom company Matáv, the PKI Telecommunications Development Institute that is responsible for execution is appointing new members and a new leader to the committee in 2005. The Postal Museum received HUF 5 million in support to prepare an exhibition catalogue for the display at Nagyvázsony and to renovate the historical stable at Balaton- szemes. It submitted a full and on-time accounting of the HUF 20 million received through the e-World I competition. The Stamp Museum won a grant of HUF 8.5 million to prepare a catalogue of its new permanent exhibitions, to cover the display cabinets housing its highly valuable stamps with security film, and to set up a museum website and virtual exhibitions. This was the year when we had to introduce the new rules of registration to museum management and to test the preparation and use of our electronic inventories. The sale of the building housing the Postal Museum in the latter half of 2004 mobilised the print and electronic media as well as the social organisations connected to the museum to support the museum. It is now necessary to order professional opinions and appraisals and to verify postal and Foundation inputs to go along with our request for nullification of the sales contract that was submitted to the court. At present, we have been paying our monthly rent to an escrow account maintained by the court. To date we have received no official notice from the Terézváros (Theresa-town) Local Government telling us either that our lease has been cancelled or that it was transferred to another entity. Collections Our Stamp Museum collections increased as follows: Collection of Hungarian stamps 35 521 Collection of foreign stamps 27 481 Miscellaneous collections 315 Library 79 Philatelist Andor Bér presented the Stamp Museum with a stamp collection worth millions of forints, one that had won awards at numerous domestic and international exhibitions. Andor Bér’s donation was similar in scope and generosity to that of Dr. Rezső Soó.
