Rövid tartalmi összefoglaló angol nyelven
The Foundation organised programmes for the Museum Assent Association, which has 152 members. About 1050 people attended the ten events. The Foundation turned its auditorium over to the meetings of the Andrâssy Society, to special meetings of the Budafok SaxlehnerAndrâs Association, and to representative programmes organised by the local government of District 6 (such as concluding a sister cities’ agreement with a district of Sofia, Bulgaria). Among events organised outside of Budapest, special mention should go to the presentation of memorial certificates to post offices celebrating their centenary on World Postal Day. Our relationship with the media is balanced, with the museums included in numerous television and radio reports. Publications • A Hungarian and English language catalogue for our permanent exhibition at the Radio and Television Museum has been published, entitled Seventy years of broadcasting in Hungary. • We published a brochure on the museums operated by the Foundation (it was distributed among the hotels and holiday resorts along Lake Balaton and handed out to the staffs of all founder companies). • We published the 2002 Yearbook of the Foundation of the Postal and Telecommunication Museum. • We prepared a CD-ROM called Museum of the Year, 2002. Budapest, January 28, 2004 Mrs. Gergely Kovács The Work Plan of the Foundation of the Postal and Telecommunication Museum for 2004 The Foundation and its museums began their 15th year of operation in this configuration in 2004. Now that the Postal museum was recognised in 2003 with the grand prize as Museum of the Year, 2002, the Board would like to see the founders win the Support of Culture prize in 2004, for the steadfast museum maintenance and development they have provided throughout the past 15 years. Administration and business management New efforts have included the transfer of staff records to the Foundation along with inclusion of all tasks related to mandatory data provision in the founding document and the rules of organisation and operation. We have run thorough checks of labour safety, accident prevention, fire safety, property security, and electrical hazard prevention at the Foundation and in the museums. 320
