• The Nobel Prize (stamp exhibition), temporary exhibition at the University of Technology and Economics in Budapest (May 20-22, 2001). • Hungarians Who Made the 2<yh Century, joint exhibition of the Workshop of Hungarian Science and Technology History and the Stamp Museum at the Hungarian National Museum (August 31, 2001 to November 10, 2001). • Nobel Prize-Winners on Stamps of the World, temporary exhibition in Parliament (November 30, 2001 to December 3, 2001). • Philatelic Documents of the Pannonhalma Abbey, stamp day exhibit in Győr, W Hungary (May 24-27, 2001). • “Palócland” Postal History, new permanent exhibit in Hollókő (NE Hungary) Postal Museum (opened on June 24, 2001). • State Print Shop Celebrates 150‘h Anniversary, Selection of the stamps printed in the State Print Shop, temporary exhibition at the Budapest History Museum (From November 23, 2001 to March 31, 2002). • Hungary’s 1,000-Year History Reflected in Stamp Images, itinerant exhibition in various post offices within the Szeged (S Hungary) Regional Post Office Division: Békéscsaba 1, Szentes 1, Gyula 1, Csorvás, Vésztő, Kiskunhalas 1. • Hungarian Folk Art Motifs, itinerant exhibition of the work of graphic artist László Dudás at the Szeged (S Hungary) Regional Post Office Division (opened on November 9, 2001 and is still open). • Temporary Exhibition of the Collection of Graphic Artist Pál Varga, at the Stamp Museum (December 5, 2001-May 31,2002). • Mobile Post Offices at the Turn of the 19h-20,h Centuries, portion of permanent exhibition at Postal Museum, Balatonszemes (W Hungary), (Opened on May 1, 2001). • Rare Items in Hungarian Telecom History: The Story of a Caterpillar-Tread Ditch- Digging Machine, portion of permanent exhibition at Radio and Television Museum at Diósd (near Budapest) (Opened on May 17, 2001). • Telecom Motifs on Phone Calling Cards, temporary exhibition at Matáv (Hungarian Telecom Corporation) Headquarters (November 17-18, 2001). • Rezső Ócsvár ’s Art in Postal Letters, temporary exhibition at Postal Museum (December 14, 2001 to January 31, 2002). In addition to the above exhibitions, we reorganised the permanent display at Balatonszemes, and fully renovated the exhibitions at Ópusztaszer (C Hungary) and Debrecen (E Hungary). The number of registered visitors at the sites was 135,000. Audience Relations, Programmes • About 50 professional and scientific meetings, and club gatherings were held in the Postal Museum auditorium. • The two museums had a very successful Museum May-Time Celebration, just as it had in past years. • The minimum number of persons attending museum events was 80, but it often exceeded 200, such as at the Telecom May-Time Gathering at Diósd. 217
