One is a letter, dated 5 March 1707, by Hungary’s then ruling Prince Ferenc Rákóczi II, which notifies Ung County of the appointment of Márton Kossovics as its postmaster; and the other is a royal deed, written on parchment and dated 1845, granting postmaster rights to the town of Nyergesújfalu. The latter document includes one certified copy of the original prepared at the same time, and two letters, one of which suggests that the Postal Museum had attempted to purchase this document as long ago as 1896. Significant Gifts To the Postal Museum- The heirs of Endre Hajdú presented the legacy of the philatelist, including books and periodicals,- the documents and degrees of philatelist László Götler,- Andor Bér presented the silver itinerant award of the Hungária Stamp Collectors’ Circle, including the letter seals and two preliminary letters of notification,- Károly Vagyóczky presented 13 works of graphic art,- Geri Hof presented 6 preliminary sketches for stamps,- Tibor Szokody donated 130 Austrian First Day Cover enveloped and memorial sheets.- László Surányi’s international awards for his collection of Hungarian stamps used on periodicals, as well as his certificates and posters were donated to the museum, and his collection was transferred to the museum through his widow, half as a gift, and the other half as a purchase. Gifts to the Postal Museum- A Békésy-designed audiometer was donated by dr. László Kovács,- a postal memorial book and a series of studies dating from 1945 to 1962 were donated by János Bakos,- a series of 33 photographs of a mobile radio transmitter, dating from 1943 and 1944, were donated by Aurél Komporday,- Mrs. Lajos Jankovich donated an album containing a series of caricatures drawn by Brúnó Kardos between 1915 and 1919, portraying the staff of Post Office No. 72. 236
