Postai és Távközlési Múzeumi Alapítvány Évkönyve, 1994

Rövid tartalmi összefoglaló angol nyelven

1994 general meeting of the I ATM in Lisbon. Preparations were made for obtaining the sound and picture materials for the Diósd Museum, and a precursor of television, the Nipkow dial televisor, from an American factory. The general meeting of the MUT was postponed at the request of its president in Prague. The study trip to Nuremberg and Berlin, planned jointly with Antenna Hungária, was put off until the following year. Finances The Foundation operated according to the financial plan for 1994. A detailed report was made on November 15, 1994 on the forecast financial position in 1994 and the budget for 1995. The Foundation met with no liquidity problems, and the audits revealed no shortcomings. Budapest, December 29, 1994 * Mrs József Papp: Stock Audit at the Stamp Museum During the ten-yearly audit of the museum’s stock, professional museum staff examined 8,346 items in 30 collection groups between 1991 and 1994, and checked the integrity and archive condition of 520 sealed parcels. During the audit, the staff members also performed the fundamental tasks of the museum in connection with care, expansion and exhibitions of the collections. Experience with the museum inventory as a whole has led to proposals for re-examining the handling system and establishing a registry group. Júlia Kisfaludi: Chronicle of the Postal Museum 1994 This is the third year for which I have drawn up an account of our work, daily lives and festivals, joys and woes, successes and failures. The biggest accessions came from an eight-day collection trip to the Pécs Directorate, and from incorporating into the museum the documentary collections of the firmPoTiBER, which was wound up. After a basic in-house training course, we began to use computers to process the collections. Apart from the museum’s main exhibition („The Golden Age of the Royal Hungarian Post and Memorial to Mihály Gervay”), we mounted several smaller displays: for World Telecommunications Day in Debrecen, a mobile post office exhibition in Paks, a display for the Debrecen Postal Workers’ Conference, an exhibition of postal history at Tállya, and 125 Years of Postcards in Budapest. In international relations, we took part in the IATM Conference, and played host to several colleagues from abroad. Peter Donhauser of the Technical Museum in Vienna 212
