The Foundation of the Postal and Telecommunications Museum 1994 work plan 1. Foundation tasks As the foundation enters its fifth year it has proved through its operation that its organizational frameworks can guarantee the maintenance of the specialist museums and the widening of the network of their exhibition sites (Telephone Museum, Radio and Television Museum). The changes which have taken place since the establishment of the foundation, the organizational transformation of the founder organizations, the likely effects of privatization, the appearance of the new system of state subsidies for the protection of technical relics, all demand a rethink of the development tasks related to the operation of the foundation. These can be realized within the following existing arrangements: 1.1. The accurate archiving of the current history of our profession with the publication of the following director general instruction drafts: Instruction of the Director General of the Hungarian Telecommunications pic (MATAV) on the Maintenance of the Telecommunications Museum Collection and Present-Day Objects and Documents of Historical Value; Instruction of the Director General of the Hungarian Post Company on Preserving Postal History Museum Items and Present-Day Objects and Documents of Historical Value. 1.2. Act 92 of 1993 on the amendment of the Civil Code (PTK) makes possible the modification of the documents of establishment from 1 January 1994. We have to immediately conduct this modification in order to establish in a legal form as well the changes that have occurred since the establishment and the obligations of the potential company partners, and in order to widen the range of duties of the board of trustees, and to provide authorisation to the president of the board of trustees to involve wider professional circles (developers, designers, manufacturers, users etc.) and to establish and operate the Museum Council which should convene once a year. With this, wider professional interest can be elicited in the values represented by the museum and new sponsors can join the foundation. 2. Tasks of the foundation 2.1. Creation of the necessary technical and financial conditions for the archive, as drafted in 1.1. 2.2. Carrying out the administrative and organizational tasks related to the establishment of the Museum Council. 148
