Management The Foundation reviews the tasks falling to the sphere of authority of management at quarterly sessions of the board of trustees. We introduce and adopt the regulations valid for the respective founder organisations - if necessary. The practical execution of the frequently changing laws and regulations demands the continuous revision of our regulations. This year we published new fire, accident and work safety regulations. We commissioned outside experts to conduct a property security and operational safety assessment for our museums and exhibition sites, and we published the concerned regulation within a unified framework. Work covering the extension and modernisation of alarm systems was completed at the same time as the introduction of this regulation. With the purchase of technical equipment we introduced computerised procedural and registration systems. The work of our foundation was mentioned several times as an example during parliamentary questions introduced in the interest of protecting those technical museums left without technical items and industrial background. The manager of our foundation was elected to a special board of trustees established to utilize the HUF 60 million approved in the supplementary budget and designed to preserve the technical collections. On the suggestion of the Somogy County general assembly, the State Property Agency wishes to grant usufruct right of the Balatonszemes postal museum building (which remains in long-term state ownership) to our foundation. Hopefully with this step a long period of lodger status will come to an end. Budapest, December 1993 147
