Kiállítási emlékezések - Kovács Gergelyné: Az alapítvány éves jelentése az IATM közgyűlésre, az 1993–94. évi munkáról

Scientific activity Beyond the studies and texts related to exhibitions, the collection and selection of original documents for the work Telephonograph (in Hungarian, German and English) which was jointly published by Antenna Hungária pic and the Hungarian Radio needed significant research efforts. During the year we published in specialist periodicals many articles and studies on historical themes. We participated in five national conferences. Our yearbook of 1992 was completed. We revised our data system, a move made necessary following the introduction of computerised registration, and appointed the most significant areas of interest in the data base card system which assists in scientific research. General education, professional cultural activity During the year the Stamp Museum provided a home for the sessions of the Hungarian Philatelic Scientific Society. The Postal Museum successfully organised the centenary events remembering Tivadar Puskás and the telephone news service: wreath laying at the graveside, the opening of the exhibition, poster design and distribution, and organising memorial concerts. The Tivadar Puskás and His Times contest in two rounds (held on the Telecommunications and Post World Day) announced in our postal and telecommunications vocational schools gave 80 students (amongst them 12 students from Sepsiszentgyörgy and 8 from Ditto, all from two Transsylvanian schools named after Tivadar Puskás) the opportunity to meet and compete. Professional cultural events such as the Lakihegy telecommunications May picnic, the Nyíregyháza and Dorog memorial plaques unveiled at anniversary commemorations, and the museum concerts gathered professionals from all our three founder organisations. The Diósd museum was the location for the regular meetings of radio amateurs, and for book presentations and smaller radio meetings. Our international relations We participated in two significant professional conferences, the conference of the MUT in Ljubljana, and the IATM in Paris. The study tour organised by Antenna Hungária pic to the Deutsches Museum in Munich provided valuable experience concerning the arrangement of the Diósd museum. We helped many foreign museums organise their exhibitions by sending archive material, data collection and lending objects. On the initiative of Julian G. Clive, several West European philatelists established a foundation to develop the collection of the Stamp Museum. The returns from the basic capital deposited in hard currency and equivalent to HUF 1 million are available for foreign purchases. (The Foundation was registered on 1 October 1993, No. 4,227.) 146
