THEOLOGY OF INCULTURATION AMONG CHURCHES... 13 journals and reviews to reports on ecumenical and religious events, and also to deeper ecumenical studies, with preference given to comments on the docu­ments resulting from inter-church dialogue and interreligious dialogue; 5) there is very much to recommend good relations between Catholics and other Chris­tian students, between Christians and other students belonging to another re­ligion; 6) it is important to give emphasis to prayer for unity, not only during the Week of Prayer for this purpose but also at other times during the year. De­pending on circumstances of place and persons, and in conformity with the existing rules about shared worship, joint retreats under the guidance of a spiri­tual master, may also be envisaged; 7) there is a wide field of common witness in social or welfare works. Students should be trained and encouraged in this— not only theology students, but also those of other faculties, such as law, socio­logy and political science. By their contribution these students will help to pro­mote and realize such initiatives.11 Catholic theological institution as an instrument for the transmission and elaboration of the faith is in the pay of the Church, and for the accomplishing his mission it is necessary to observe the instructions of the Magisterium, ac­cepting them, for the salvation of all people. The ecumenical movement has started 100 years ago, with the World Missionary Conference in Edinburgh, in 1910, and the lot of churches participating on this meeting, opened to towards other churches.12 The Catholic Church has joined this movement only with the Second Vatican Council, giving an ecumenical impulse to the whole Catholic Church. The decree of Unitatis redintegratio is the fruit of a theological work - according to the statement of Walter Cardinal Kasper, former president of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity.13 The ecumenical activity is in want off experts in the Catholic University too for the future, and these insti­tutes have to equip with the good documentation on ecumenism and religion. These institutes should be well informed and up to date with what is going on in inter-confessional dialogue and with the progress accomplished.14 Experts train­ed this way will supply personnel for the ecumenical task in order to promote the ecumenical movement in the Catholic Church.15 The task of the theology is the continuous formation in the ecumenical interreligious field.
