SUMETROLIM © tablets COMPOSITION chemothcrapeutic 80 mg trimethoprim and 400 mg sulfamethoxazole per tablet. INDICATIONS Infections of the upper and lower respiratory tract nfections of the kidneys and urinary passage, infe tions of the gastrointestinal tract. Diseases of the genital organs. Inflammatory diseases of the gall bladder and biliary duct. CONTRAINDICATIONS Hepatic and renal insufficiency, blood-dyscrasia, trimethoprim and sulfonamide intolerance, as well as pregnancy. Should not be administered during lactation , to premature infants , neonates and infants up to the age of 6 weeks. SIDE EFFECTS Indispositions, headache, gastric complaints, /nausea, vomiting, anorexia/, drug exanthem. During long lasting administration or insusceptible persons reversible hematologic alternations / agranulocytosis , leucopenia / may occur. DOSAGE In case of acute infection the preparation is administered at least for 4 days / subsequently only in maintenance doses/, in general- if effective- as long as at least a 2 days' symptomfree state is not obtained; For adult: therapeutic dose 2x2 tablets, maintenance dose 2x1 tablet, maximum dose 2x3 tablets daily, in the morning and at night after the meals.
