In the course of the catalogue-maintenance the oparations—in addition to the filing — can be divided in two groups

: 1. Work in connection with the state of the catalogue. I.e. to change cards for formal grounds: to order instead of used, dirty cards new ones, to break down a group to subgroups, to construct new guiding cards etc. 2. Solution of essential problems a) Errors in the construction of the catalogue. I.e. errors in order, compound surnames, •coordination of cross-references, etc. b) Errors owing to the cataloguing. I.e. choice among different names, divergency in the organisation of the description, headings for corporate bodies, etc. One of the main results was, that it became compulsory to search the catalogue to verify each data befor cataloguing. Our entries are made now related to the catalogvie. The individual solutions of headings became less, a great deal of the missing data's coulds be ascertained from the catalogue. We are able to introduce some other measurments of minor importance, to facilitate the catalogue-maintenance and to get a better working organization. 24(3
