Julolaelaps pararotundaîus (RYKE, 1959) (Figs 1-2) Description - Female. Length of idiosoma 1180pm, width (in the middle of idiosoma) 770pm. Shape oval, posterior margin rounded. Dorsal side (Fig. 1 ): dorsal shield with several, smooth, short and setiform setae, one pair of these setae on apical part of idiosoma longer and thicker than other dorsal setae. Interscutellar membranes bear several smooth, short and setiform setae. Dorsal shield with squamose ornamentation. Remarks - RYKE (1959) mentioned this species from "Pemba (West Africa)", but Pemba is an island off the coast of Kenya, which is not in West Africa! Figs 1-2.
