Abstract - Three galumnatid species from Iran are described and discussed. With 7 figures. Key words - Acari, Oribatida, Galumnatidae, Iran, new species. INTRODUCTION The junior author, Mr. MOHAMMAD ALI AKRAMI, scientific research worker of the University of Tehran, while preparing for his PhD thesis, collected oribatids in several localities of Iran. Some of these have been sent to the senior author, Dr. SÁNDOR MAHUNKA, for identification, while others for checking identification. The material includes numerous species belonging to the family Galumnatidae, among them some are new for science. Their descriptions are given hereunder. All the specimens were prepared in slides, so when making our descriptions the slides were left intact, and were not opened. The preparations are very well done, which greatly helped the identification and descriptions of the species, and several specimens of each species have been available. When making the drawings we took into consideration any incidental damage or distortion due to pressure. This fact affected the measurements, but these have not been corrected. When making the descriptions we heavily relied on the terminology of ENGELBRECHT (1969) and MAHUNKA (1995, 1996)
