dian area") raised well upwards. Second tergite 1.5 times as long medially as broad behind and with a wide medio-anterior field. Third tergite 1.26 times as long laterally as broad behind and with a medio-anlcrior field pointed blunty antero-medially. Hind third of scutum of first tergite. second tergite entirely (Fig. 134) and basal half of third tcrgite rugo-rugulosc; otherwise scutum uneven to smooth, base of tergites 4—5 uneven, rest of tergites smooth and shiny. Ovipositor sheath almost as long as body. Ground colour of body reddish yellow with much straw yellow pattern on face, frons, temple, mesonotum and anterior half of tergites 2-6. Antenna greyish dark brown, scape and pedicel with reddish tint. Palpi yellow. Occiput with ocellar field and three maculae of mesonotum black. Hind third of first tergite and hind half of tergites 2-6 dark brown, tergites 7-8 entirely blackish brown. Legs yellow to reddish yellow, hind femur faintly brownish. Wings brownish subfumous and with small brown spot on proximal base of first submarginal cell as well as on that of marginal cell each; pterostigma opaque yellow, veins also opaque yellow. Description of the female paratype - Similar to the holotype. Body 14 mm long. Antenna with 90 antennomeres. 4-SR 2.2 times aslong as 3-SR. Male and host unknown. Distribution - Laos. Remarks - The new species, Stenobracon virgulatus sp. n., is nearest to S. oculatus SZEPLIGETI, 1901 (Oriental Region) and with the help of CHISHTI & QUICKE'S key (1996: 237-238) it runs also to this species; the two species are easy to differentiate by the fol­lowing features: Figs 130-138. - Figs 130-134.
