Makhan, D.: Twenty-six new Scydmaenidae species from South America (Coleoptera: Scydmaenidae)

Etymology. This species is named after my son SATISHANAND MAKHAN. Euconnus anandi sp. n. (Fig. 24) Holotype d Suriname: Kasikasima, 27.III.1996, MAKHAN (only the holotype). Description (holotype d ). Colour of head, pronotum, elytra and legs brown. Total length 1.10 mm, width 0.60 mm. Head about as long as wide, with brown setae, also on the area between the eyes and the clypeus. Eyes large and with fine facets. Antennae with a four-segmented club, brown, with brown setae, 7th, 8th and 9th antennái segments are wider than long, 10th oval, 10th is 1.5 times longer than 9th. Pronotum longer than wide, widest at the base, with brown setae, depress­ions absent. Elytra oval, longer than wide, widest at the middle, with brown setae, depressions ab­sent. Scutellum absent. Legs simple, femur swollen and with brown setae. Male genitalia (Fig. 24): páraméra with two setae and median lobe with sclerites. Figs 23-26.
