Makhan, D.: Twenty-six new Scydmaenidae species from South America (Coleoptera: Scydmaenidae)

Etymology. This species is named after my son SATISHANAND MAKHAN. Euconnus satishanandi sp. n. (Fig. 25) Holotype d Curacao, Rooi Cajoeda Knip, 17.V 111.1948, HUMMELINCK (only the holotype). Description (holotype d ). Colour of head, pronotum, elytra and legs brown. Total length 2.05 mm, width 1.00 mm. Head about as long as wide, with white setae, and also on the area between the eyes and clypeus. Eyes large and with fine facets. Antennae brown, with white setae, with a 4— segmentented club, 7th, 8th and 9th antennái segments are longer than wide, 10th oval, 10th is as long as the 8th + 9th. Pronotum longer than wide, widest at the base, with brown setae, depressions absent. Elytra oval, longer than wide, widest at the middle, with brown setae, depressions absent. Scutellum absent. Legs long, femur swollen and with brown setae. Male genitalia (Fig. 25): páraméra with two setae, median lobe with sclerites. Etymology. This species is named after my son SATISHANAND MAKHAN. Euconnus sommeijeri sp. n. (Fig. 26) Holotype d Tobago, Bacolet, 18.VIII.1993, SOMMEIJER (only the holotype). Description (holotype d ). Colour of "head, pronotum, elytra and legs brown. Total length 1.50 mm, width 0.80 mm. Head about as long as wide, with brown setae, also on the area between the eyes and clypeus. Eyes large, with fine facets. Antennae brown, with brown setae, with a 7-segmented club, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th antennái segments are wider than long, 10th oval, 10th is as long as the 8th + 9th. Pronotum longer than wide, widest at the base, with brown setae, depressions absent. Elytra oval, widest at the middle, with brown setae, depressions absent. Scutellum absent. Legs simple, femur swollen and with brown setae. Male genitalia (Fig. 26): páraméra with two setae and median lobe with sclerites. Etymology. This species is named after my colleague MARLNUS J.
