Makhan, D.: Twenty-six new Scydmaenidae species from South America (Coleoptera: Scydmaenidae)

Description (holotype d ). Colour of head, pronotum, elytra and legs brown. Total length 1.20 mm, width 0.50 mm. Head about as long as wide, with brown setae, also on the area between the eyes and the clypeus. Eyes large and with fine facets. Antennae brown, with brown setae, with a four-segmented club, 7th, 8th and 9th antennái segments are wider than long, 10th oval, 10th is slightly longer than 9th. Pronotum longer than wide, widest at the base, with brown setae, depress­ions absent. Elytra oval, longer than wide, widest at the middle, with brown setae, depressions ab­sent. Scutellum absent. Legs simple, femur swollen and with brown setae. Male genitalia (Fig. 13): páraméra with two setae and median lobe with sclerites. Etymology. This species is named after my son RISHWAN. Euconnus harryi sp. n. (Fig. 14) Holotype d Suriname: Palumeu, 30.111.1996, MAKHAN (only the holotype). Description (holotype d ). Colour of head, elytra and legs brown. Total length 1.30 mm, width 0.55 mm. Head about as long as wide, with brown setae, also on the area between the eyes and clypeus. Eyes large. Antennae brown, with brown setae, with a four-segmented club. 7th, 8th and 9th antennái segments are wider than long, 10th oval, 10th is 1.5 times longer than 9th. Prono­tum longer than wide, widest at the base, with brown setae, depressions absent. Elytra oval, widest at the middle, with brown setae, depressions absent, Scutellum absent. Legs simple, femur swollen, with brown setae. Male genitalia (Fig. 14): páraméra with one seta and median lobe with sclerites. Etymology. This species is named after my son HARRY DEEPAK. Euconnus deepaki sp. n. (Fig. 15) Holotype d Suriname: Palumeu, 30.III.1996, MAKHAN (only the holotype). Description (holotype d ). Colour of head, pronotum, elytra and legs brown. Total length 1.80 mm, width 0.80 mm. Head about as long as wide, with brown setae, also on the area between the eyes and clypeus. Eyes large and with fine facets. Antennae brown, with brown setae, with a four­segmented club, 7th, 8th and 9th antennái segments are wider than long, 10th oval, 10th is 1.5 times longer than 9th.
