three-segmented club, 8th antennái segment is longer than wide, 9th rounded, 10th oval, 10th is twice longer than 9th. Pronotum longer than wide, widest at anterior third, with brown setae, with four depressions on posterior margin. Elytra oval, widest at the middle, with brown setae, depress­ions absent. Scutellum absent. Legs long, femur swollen and with brown setae. Male genitalia (Fig. 2): páraméra absent, median lobe with sclerites. Etymology. This species is named after my son RISHWAN MAKHAN. Scydmaenus soekhnandanae sp. n. (Fig. 3) Holotype d Suriname: Carolina Creek, 6.IV. 1996, MAKHAN (only the holotype). Description (holotype d ). Colour of head, pronotum, elytra and legs brown. Total length 2.00 mm, width 0.80 mm. Head about as long as wide, and with brown setae, also on the area between the eyes and clypeus. Eyes large and with fine facets. Antennae brown, with brown setae, with a three-segmented club, 8th and 9th antennái segments are longer than wide, 10th oval, 10th is as long as the 8th + 9th. Pronotum longer than wide, widest at anterior third, with brown setae, de­pressions absent. Elytra oval, widest at the middle, with brown setae, depressions absent. Scutellum present. Legs long, femur swollen and with brown setae. Male genitalia (Fig. 3): páraméra absent, median lobe with sclerites. Etymology. This species is named after my mother SOEKHNANDAN.
