Scydmaenus aschnae sp. n. (Fig. 4) Holotype d Suriname: Palumeu, 30.111.1996, MAKHAN. - Paratypes. 3 ÇÇ (same data as holotype) (1 ?in HNHM). Description (holotype d ). Colour of head, pronotum, elytra and legs brown. Total length 2.60 mm, width 1.00 mm. Head about as long as wide, with brown setae, also on the area between the eyes and clypeus. Eyes small and with fine facets. Antennae brown, with brown setae, with a threesegmented club, 8th and 9th antennái segments are longer than wide, 10th elongate, 10th is as long as the 8th + 9th. Pronotum longer than wide, widest on anterior third and with brown setae, with four depressions on posterior margin. Elytra oval, longer than wide, widest at the middle and with brown setae, depressions absent. Scutellum absent. Legs simple, femur swollen and with brown setae. Male genitalia (Fig. 4): páraméra absent and median lobe with sclerites. Etymology. This species is named after my daughter ASCHNA MAKHAN. Scydmaenus soesilae sp. n. (Fig. 5) Holotype d Suriname: Nieuw Amsterdam, 30.III.1996, MAKHAN. - Paratype. 1 Ç (same data as holotype) (in HNHM). Description (holotype d ). Colour of head, pronotum, elytra and legs brown. Total length 1.80 mm, width 0.80 mm. Head about as long as wide, with brown setae, also on the area between the eyes and clypeus. Eyes large, and with fine facets. Antennae brown, with brown setae, with a threesegmented club, 8th and 9th antennái segments are wider than long, 10th oval, 10th is as long as the 8th + 9th. Total length 2.20 mm, width 0.90 mm. Head about as long as wide, smooth, shiny, setae absent. Clypeus with brown setae. Eyes large and with coarse facets. Antennae with a five-segmented club, 6th, 7th and 8th antennái segments black, with black setae, longer than wide, 9th oval, 10th elongately oval, 10th is twice longer than 9th, brown and with brown setae.
