Pronotum in H. baloghi almost square (MAKHAN 1993), pronotum in H. soesilaae longer than wide. Hydrochus iduae sp. n. (Fig. 31) Holotype: male. Paraguay, Asuncion, 7-9.X 1.1970 (collector unknown) (only the holotype) (Bishop Museum). Description (holotype male): Body elongate, length 3.5 mm, width 1.4 mm. Dorsal side shining. Colour of head, pronotum, scutellum and elytra greyish coppery and with a blue-green metallic gloss. Head with dense, fine punctures. Pronotum longer than wide, lateral side with granules. On disc with 6 large shallow depressions. Anterior margin of pronotum with three depressions, one in the centre, two behind this. Posterior margin with three depressions. Elytral length 2.1 mm, elytra widest on posterior third, lateral side smooth, interstriae wider than striai punctures, interstriae flat, tubercle absent. Apical holes absent. Elytral apices rounded. Male genitalia (Fig. 31): Basal piece as long as páraméra, paramcra longer than median lobe. Etymology: The species is named after my sister-in-law JENNIFER MAKHAN-IDU. Hydrochus elineae sp. n. (Fig. 32) Holotype: male. Mexico, EI Cora, A. LUDECKE, (date unknown) (Mus. Berlin). - Paratype s: 1 male, 1 female (same as holotype) (1 male in Mus. Budapest). Description (holotype male): Body elongate, length 6.1 mm, width 2.1 mm (one male 3.1 mm long). Dorsal side shining, colour of head pronotum, scutellum and elytra brown and with a blue-green metallic gloss. Head with dense, fine punctures. Pronotum almost trapezium-shaped, lateral side smooth. Disc with five large shallow depressions. Anterior margin of pronotum with three depressions, one at the centre, two behind this. Posterior margin with two depressions. Elytral length 4.0 mm, elytra widest on posterior third, lateral side smooth, interstriae wider than striai punctures, 5th interstria with a tubercle, the other interstriae fiat. Apical holes absent. Elytral apices rounded. Male genitalia (Fig. 32): Basal piece as long as páraméra, páraméra longer than median lobe. Etymology: This species is named after my mother ELINE MAKHAN. This species seems to be allied to H. hanoewanti sp. n.. The head in H. elineae with fine punctures, in H. hanoewanti with coarse punctures. Hydrochus vanvondeli sp. n. (Fig. 33) Holotype: male. Mexico, El Cora A. LUDECKE, (date unknown) (Mus. Berlin). Description (holotype male): Body elongate, length 3.6 mm, width 1.2 mm. Dorsal side shining. Colour of head black, colour of pronotum, scutellum and elytra greyish coppery and with a blue"green metallic gloss. Head with dense, fine punctures. Pronotum longer than wide, lateral side smooth. Disc with five large shallow depressions. Anterior margin of pronotum with three depressions, one at the centre, two behind this. Posterior margin with two depressions. Elytral length 2.2 mm, elytra widest on posterior third, lateral side smooth, interstriae wider than striai punctures, interstriae flat, tubercle absent. Elytral apices rounded. Apical holes absent. Male genitalia (Fig. 33): Basal piece short, páraméra longer than median lobe. Etymology: This species is named after my friend BERNHARD VAN VONDEL.
