Cap more convex, whitish, but with a brownish or rosaceous shade, somewhat floccose or with circles of squam­ules towards the margin. Stem 5-8(10) x 0.8-1.3 (base 1.5) cm, more or less bulbous, mostly whitish or slightly reddish, with few veil-flocci to­wards the base. Ring double. Flesh yellowing towards the base, finally en­tirely ochre, but may be turning brownish with a reddish shade. Smell weak, pleasant, then carbolic. Spores (5)6-6.5(7) x 4-5.5yum. Cheilocysti­dia clavate, with 1-2(3) septae, (25)30-40(55) x 10-15(20) jum, In shrubby places and clearings A. pseudocretaceus BON (= Psalliota flavescens RICH, et R0ZE) 3a - Cap 5-15 cm, white, only slightly brownish-greyish when mature, on in­fluence of sunshine becoming darker, more or less yellowing when han­dled. Stem 6-15 x 0.8-1.2 (bulb 2) cm, bulb globoid or somewhat margin­ate, white. Ring double, with a narrow collar on the underside, edge of­ten yellow. Flesh in stem-base turning chrome-yellow. Smell weak, like carbolic acid or Indian ink. Spores 5-6.5 x 3.5-ttjum. Cheilocystidia ovoid or balloon-shaped or pear-shaped, 10-20(35) x 8-15 jjm . In meadows, pastures, parks and woods.
