A. oblonga sp. n. 1. Cu2 conspicuously long, 1. r_2 1.3 times as long as cuqul (Fig. 9). 2. First tergite (Fig. 10) 2. distinctly broadening posteriorly, 1.3 times broader at hind than long, twice as wide behind as basally . 3. Propodeum areolated (Fig. 8), 3. areolae sculptured. 4. Second tergite 1.46 times 4. as long as third tergite, tergites 1-2 with a medio­longitudinal keel (Fig. 10). 5. Body evenly brownish 5. yellow . A. choaspes NIXON Cu2 short, cuqul 1.8-2 times as long as r_2 (Fig. 5 in NIXON 1940: 477). First tergite subquadrate, hard­ly longer than broad at hind, its, hind width only somewhat greater than basal width (Fig. 13 in NIXON 1940: 480). Propodeum without areolation, smooth . Second tergite twice as long as third tergite (Fig. 13 I.e.), tergites 1-2 without a medio­longitudinal keel. Body pale brownish to pale reddish yellow with dark brown to brown pattern . HORMIUS NEES, 1818 Twenty-four species of the genus Hormius NEES are listed in SHENEFELT's world-catalogue of Braconidae (1975: 1143-1147). From among them six species are distributed in the Palaearctic Region and five species (of which three species are new to science) are in the Indo-Australian Pacific Region, their checklist is given below: Palaearctic Region extimius TOBIAS, 1964 - USSR minialatus TOBIAS, 1977 - Mongolia moniliatus (NEES, 1812) - Palaearctic Region, Nearctic Region: Greenland, Indo-Australian Pacific Region: Taiwan, Vietnam = similis SZÉPLIGETI 1896 (var.!) orientális BELOKOBYLSKIJ , 1980 - USSR radialis TELENGA, 1941 - USSR sculpturatus TOBIAS, 1967 - USSR Indo-Australian Pacific Region amus sp . n . - India lamidae sp. n. - India longiventris BELOKOBYLSKIJ , 1988 - Taiwan pacificus (ASHMEAD, 1905) - Philippines vitabilis sp. n. - India Hormius amus sp. n. o (Figs 11-15, 20) Description of the holotype o. - Body 2.6 mm long. Head in dorsal view (Fig. 11) transverse, just less than twice (i.e. 1.9 times) as broad as long, eye 1.77 times as long as temple, latter con­stricted, occiput feebly excavated. Eye in lateral view 1.4 times as high as wide and 1.7 times as wide as temple, latter evenly wide behind eye. Ocelli small, elliptic and forming an equilateral triangle; distance between two ocelli about as long as greatest diameter of an ocellus, 00L almost three times as long as 0D as well as POL. Face 2.23 times as wide as high, inner margin of eyes indistinctly diverging ventrally (i.e. just not parallel). Malar space 1.4 times as long as basal width of mandible. Head polished. -
