Remarks — It is very similar to Lagria cyanea but differs from that in having the basal segments of antennae darker, the pronotal punctation sparser, the elytral sutura, lateral margins and epipleura more or less reddish and reddish colouration of femora usually more extensive. There is no overlap between the geographical ranges of these two species. Lagria albovillosa MACLEAY, 1887 (Figs 16, 24, 84, 104) Lagria albovillosa MACLEAY, 1887, p. 316. — Lagria albovillosa: BORCHMANN, 1910, p. 6; BORCHMANN, 1915, p. 88; BORCHMANN, 1936, p. 42, 47. Lagria australis var'. suturalis BORCHAMNN, 1911, p. 205. syn. n. —Lagria suturalis: BORCHMANN, 1915 p. 77, 81 ; BORCHMANN, 1936, p. 42, 47. Body elongate, rather robust. Head and pronotum dark blue, feebly shining. Scutellum reddish. Elytra black, shining, with more or less expressed blue sheen, sutura, lateral margins and epipleura vellow to reddish. Suturai band varying from rather broad to extremely narrow; lateral pale colouration usually narrow. Ventral surface reddish. Antennae nearly unicolorous black ; basal 4 segments indistinctly paler. Legs black with basal half of femora reddish. Dorsal surface covered with rather long, semierect to erect, sparse, greyish white pubescence. — Length 9-12 mm. cf. Head coarsely and densely punctate. Interocular distance broader than eye diameter (IOI = 116.7). — Antennae rather stout (Fig. 16), segment I much shorter than half of interantennal distance (IAI = 26.6). Relative lengths of segments VI to XI are 13 : 10: 12: 10: 10: 34, i.e. last segment a little shorter than 3 predecing combined. — Pronotum transverse (PNI = = 84.6), sides slightly arcuate, widest at base, punctation coarse and very dense, punctures nearly subcontiguous. — Elytra with punctation finer and much sparser than that of pronotum. Interspaces distinctly plicate. — Legs typical, tibiae unarmed, hind tibiae nearly straight. — Aedeagus as figured (Fig. 24). — Habitus: Fig. 104. 0. Size larger on average. Interocular distance more than 1.5 times as wide as eye diameter (IOI — 168.4). Antennái segment I very short (IAI = 25.5). Relative lengths of segments VII to XI are 12: 11: 12 : 9: 22, i.e. last segment about as long as 2 preceding combined' Pronotum more transverse (PNI = 76.8).
