Vásárhelyi, T.: Aradus horvathi sp. n. from the Southern Carpathians (Heteroptera, Aradidae)
The new species is closely related to Aradus anisotomus PUTON, 1879* obviously shown by the similarities in the male and female external genitalia (Figs. 5-10, 15-16) and overall resemblance, however, is differing from anisotomus also in the following: 1. Antennái joint 2 much longer in anisotomus, longer than width of head while shorter than width of head in horvathi. —2. Lateral border of pronotum "obtuse-angled" in anisotomus, while rounded in horvathi (Figs. 11-14).—3. Pronotum 2.43 (rf ) or 2.52 (Ç ) times as wide as long in anisotomus. —4. Lateral border of scutellum of anisotomus is slightly converging posteriorly in the basal 2/3 and strongly converging and sinuate towards tip, while that of horvathi is arched over its whole length. — 5. White tubercles frequent on antenna and legs of anisotomus while only exceptional in horvathi. — 6. Maximum width of hemelytra (at about 2/3 of the total length) much wider than head in anisotomus, while about as wide as head in horvathi. — 7. General coloration of anisotomus is brown with yellow spots and white tubercles, while that of horvathi is blackish brown with yellow on hemelytra and posterolateral edge of dorsolaterotergites only. * # * Acknowledgements — I would like to express here my sincere gratitude to Dr. E.
