a weakly sclerotized area posterior to mediolateral apodemes on posterior part. Lateral apodemes on dorsolaterotergite 2 missing. Tergite 3 with weakly sclerotized lateral part surrounding mediolateral apodeme and posteriorly forming an arched furrow. Tergites 3-6 laterally densely granulated, median apodemes near anterior border, latter sinuated anteriorly. Mediolateral apodemes in the middle on tergite 4, behind the middle on tergite 5, 6, lateral ones on dorsolaterotergites. Sulcus between tergite 7 and dorsolaterotergite 7 inconspicuous. Posterolateral edge of dorsolaterotergites yellow. Segment 8 of male as in Fig. 3, tergite 9, paramere (Figs. 5-6) and parandrium (Fig. 9) characteristic of the betulae-group, tergite 9 however, with a lateral process convex and subvertical in position. Tip of abdomen of female as in Figs. 4, 16, lateral borders directed towards each other in almost square angle. On ventral side intersegmental borders broken medially and forming a wide, reversed V. Pattern of apodemes 1(2) : 2 : 1, the lateral apodeme long, with two centres. Measurements (averages of the 3 or 2 specimens, respectively) — Male : total length of body 7.28 mm, length of head 1.43 mm, width of head 1.20 mm, length of pronotum 1.02 mm, width of pronotum 2.37 mm, length of scutellum 1.30 mm, width of scutellum 1.04 mm, maximum width of body 3.45 mm, length of antenna 2.23 mm. — Female: total length of body 8.51 mm, length of head 1.53 mm, width of head 1.32 mm, length of pronotum 1.10 mm, width of pronotum 2.66 mm. length of scutellum 1.43 mm, width of scutellum 1.17 mm, maximum width of body 3.85 mm, length of antenna 2.41 mm. Holotype (çf), allotype (9) and paratypes (2çf, 19): "Mt. Cozia, 800 m, 17-20 VI 1969. 25. E. SCHNEIDER", deposited in the Natural History Museum, Sibiu, Roumania (holotype, allotype and 1 çf paratype) and in the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest (1 9 and 1 cf paratypes). The species is dedicated to the late Dr. Géza Horváth, the eminent Hungarian hemipterist. the first explorer of the Hemiptera fauna of the Carpathians and the Carpathian Basin. Figs. 11-16.
