Kamijo, K.: Eulophidae (Hymenoptera) from Korea, with description of two new species
he fourth segment slightly shorter than the first, at most 1.3 times as long as broad; club, excluding terminal spine, as long as first f unicle segment. Thorax 1.7 times as long as broad; pronotum without margined collar; its lateral corners considerably produced antero-laterally, so that the sides of the pronotum are subparallel. Mesoscutum 1.45 times as broad as long, mid lobe strongly reticulate, side lobes weakly so. Scutellum 1.35 times as long as broad, more strongly and coarsely reticulate than mesoscutum. Dorsellum weakly sculptured. Propodeum 0.4 times as long as scutellum, with a strong basal tongue-like projection like Mestocharis; median area smooth, strongly raised in a roof-like manner; weak median carina sometimes complete; plicae indicated posteriorly; hind margin of propodeum sharply ridged. Callus with three (occasionally four) hairs; tubercle at its hind corner strongly developed. Anterior margin of mesepimeron curved. Hind coxa with dorsal surface bare in basal one-third, sparsely hairy in apical two-thirds. — Fore wing fully twice as long as broad; lower surface of costal cell bare; basal vein pilose; speculum closed below; disc densely hairy; parastigma plus marginal vein 8.3 to 10 times as long as stigmal vein; postmarginal vein 2.7 times as long as stigmal vein, which is forming an angle of about 60° with the postmarginal. Petiole slightly shorter than propodeum, with a conical basal neck, behind this a slightly raised, subrectangular portion which is densely sculptured. Gaster ovate, a little shorter than thorax, about 1.3 times as long as broad. First tergite occupying more than one-third of gaster. çf. Differs from female as follows: Body with purplish reflections only on propodeum and first tergite. Frons below frontal fork blue-green; antennái scape blackish with ventral surface brown. Scape dilated medially, 2.8 times as long as broad. Combined length of pedicel and flagellum a little longer than breadth of head; third anellus strongly transverse; first funicle segment 1.5 times as thick as pedicel, 1.5 times as long as broad; the fourth segment very slightly shorter than the first, 1.4 times as long as broad. Gastral petiole as long as propodeum, the portion behind neck very slightly longer than broad. Gaster narrow, 2.4 times as long as broad. Holotype 9 : Prov. Ryang-gang, Chann-Pay plateau, Mt. Pektusan, Mu-do-bong, 21002200 m, 25. VII. 1975 (No. 288). — Paratypes: 29, with the same data as holotype; 2 $ 1 çf, Chann-Pay plateau, 24 km NW from Sam-zi-yan, road to Mt. Pektusan, 2000 m, 24. VII. 1975 (No. 281). —• The types are deposited in the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest; Hym. Typ. No. 6555 (holotype) and 6556-6560 (paratypes). C. pektusana sp. n. is very distinct in having the occipital margin conspicuously raised behind the ocelli, the propodeum with a basal tongue-like projection like in Mestocharis, and the wings strongly infuscate throughout; by these characters it is readily distinguished from the other species. DR. BOUCEK kindly examined one female specimen and confirmed its placement in Chrysocharis. Chrysocharis melaenis (WALKER) Entedon melaenis WALKER, 1839, Monographia Chalciditum, 1: 47. Chrysocharis melaenis : GRAHAM, 1963, Trans. Soc. Br. Ent., 15: 230. Prov. Ryang-gang: 5 9, Chann-Pay plateau, Sam-zi-yan, 1700 m, 24. VII. 1975 (No. 282). In the present specimens, the gastral petiole is brownish, the fore and mid coxae whitish, the hind coxae concolorous with thorax in basal two-thirds, and the fore wing has a large discal cloud. I have also examined two females collected by me in Praha, Czechoslovakia and a number of specimens from Hokkaido, Japan. The Japanese specimens agree well with the European ones. Distribution : Korea*, Japan*, Mongolia, Europe. Chrysocharis polyzo (WALKER) Entedon polyzo WALKER, 1839, Monographia Chalciditum, 1: 40. Prov.
