Figs. 1-5. Cerceris trichobunda STRAND rf : 1 = head, 2 = surface curvature of clypeus» supraclypeal area and interantennal carina seen from right side, 3 == abdomen, 4 — pygidial area, 5 = sternite 2. tive length appr. 10, 8, 7.5, joint 3 twice as long as broad at apex, ultimate joint normal, comically attenuate apieally; head seen in prof de with temple distinctly narrower than eye (16:19), without genal projection; collar of pronotum with anterodateral corners rounded, without medial incision, mesopleuron with epimeral area roundly swollen, hence scrobal furrow appears deep, without precoxal tooth; area dorsalis on propodeum with apex orthogonal, distinctly margined by fairly deep, straight running and crenate furrows, median furrow fine and weak; abdomen: Fig. 3, pygidial area: Fig. 4, sternite 2 with distinctly raised area at base (Fig. 5), not acutely margined at apex. Head above reticulate-punctate, punctures on oculo-ocellar area larger and somewhat sparser, with interspaces smooth and polished, on upper frons finer, closer, longitudinally confluent, sides of face duplipunctate, larger punctures rather coarse and longitudinally subrugosely arranged, punctures on clypeus medium-sized, very sparse, with interspaces closely filled with pile-bearing minute points. Mesoscutum coarsely punctured and duplipunctate with minute points, with puncture-intervals partly as large as puncture diameter, but mostly less than so, in some places punctures longitudinally confluent, micropoints always sparser than on clypeus; scutellum more largely and sparsely duplipunctate, mesopleuron reticulate-punctate, punctures above scrobal furrow medium-sized, below this much larger, propodeum with area dorsalis fairly closely covered with fine punctures and striated on the lateral portions, rest of segment very coarsely irregularly reticulate. Abdominal tergites subreticulated with fairly large punctures, punctures not sharply outlined and from tergite 3 apieally gradually becoming smaller, with interspaces scattered with micropoints, pygidial area coarsely reticulated with irregular-sized punctures; sternite 2 m3dianly longitudinally, coarsely but not strongly rugose, mixing large indistinct punctures, punctures distinct towards sides, but very sparse, rest of sternites sparsely scattered with comparatively large punctures on each posterior part. 7* Cerceris varia kalensis TSTJNEKI, 1972 (Cerceris varia: TSUNEKI, 1970*, p. 20; HANEDA, 1972, p. 6.
