ILL NYSSONINAE 9*. Bembix taiwana BISCHOFF, 1913 (TSUNEKI, 1968d*, p. 6; 1971e, p. 4). — S p ecimen examined: 1 çf, Taihanroku, 1908. Remarks. The male of this species was once described as Bembix lutea. The colouration is so much different from that of the female. This species still nourishes in the district where their ancestors were collected by SAUTER. 10. liembix formosana BISCHOFF, 1913 (TSUNEKI, 1968d*, p. 6; 1971e, p. 5; 1973e, p. 3, Ryukyu). — Specimens examined: 3 $ 1 çf , Takao, 4. Bembecinus posterus (SONAN, 1928) (TSUNEKI, 1968d*,p. 15; 1971e*, p. 6; HANEDA, 1972, p. 5; MUROTA, 1973, p. 117). — Specimens examined:2Q 4 çf ', Taihorinsho, VIII, IX, X. 1908. Distribution. Formosa and the Ryukyus. R e m a r k s. In both female specimens the apical black band on the clypeus is not reaching the lateral margins and the labrum is vaguely dark brown at the base. In one of the males the clypeus carries a short narrow blackish band at the apex. 13. Bßinbecinus pacificus TSUNEKI, 1968 (TSUNEKI, 1971e*, p. 6; MUROTA, 1973, p. 117). — Specimens examined: 1 9 5 çf, Takao, 20. VI; 15, 20, 21, 26. VII. 1907; 2 Taihanroku, 1908. Distribution. Formosa, the Ryukyus and S. Korea. R e m a r k s. In the male specimens the ventral maculae of the abdomen are 3 pairs in four, 2 pairs in two and none in one. In all the specimens tergites 1 and 2 with lateral marks (in one with 3 further minute spots between the marks on 2), tergite 3 always immaculated and 4 and 5 always with lateral marks, the marks sometimes appear as a short band. 14*. Bembecinus paiwanus sp. n. Ç (Figs. 6-9) In colouration very similar to a form of B. pacificus having abdominal tergites 3 and 5 poorly maculated, except the black maculated labrum. In structure also similar to this species, except that fore metatarsal spines are longer than the width of the segment. Ç. Length 11 mm. Black; lemon yellow are clypeus, labrum except a large medio-apical blackish mark, palpi, supraclypeal area wholly, inner orbital bands, a band on collar, medially excavated in front, tubercle, a spot on tegula, axilla, two large marks on scutellum, slightly le^s in width than interspace, a narrow patch on each lateral edge of propodeum near its apical comer, large lateral marks on tergite 1, more than width of interspace, laterally enlarged bands on tergites 2, 4 and 5, on 5 twice interrupted into 3 parts (a medial patch and lateral short bands), 3 very minute spots on tergite 3, locating in middle and on each side, antenna beneath including scape, apices of fore and mid coxae, fore and mid femora beneath and at apex, fore and mid tibiae except inside, hind tibia externally on basal 2/3 and greater part of fore and mid tarsi. Hind tarsi dark brown, apieally paler. Wings hyaline, veins dark brown, stigma transparent. Hairs on clypeus and labrum velvety, white, in some light silverily glittering.
