Tsuneki, K.: Sphecidae (Hymenoptera) from Korea
Distribution: Hitherto known only from Japan. The Korean locality is the westernmost record of distribution of the species. Remarks. — The specimen differs from the Japanese typical form only in that the golden lustre of the dense vestiturë of the lower frons and clypeus is much paler, rather brassy, and the antennái flagella beneath are more broadly darkened.. 26. Psenulus fuscipes TSUN., 1959 Psenulus fuscipes TSUNEKI, 1959b, p. 33; 1963b, p. 51, 52. Specimen examined: 1 9> Prov. Ryang-gang, Hyesan, Hotel garden, 23. VIII. 1971 (No. 193). Distribution : Hitherto believed to be endemic to Japan, new to Korea. 27. Psenulus pallipes gussakovskiji (LITH 1973) Psenulus pwnciiceps GUSSAKOVSKIJ, 1932. p. 6. (Ussuri); 1934, p. 84 (Saghalien and Japan). Psenulus pallipes puncticeps: TSUNEKI, 1959b, p. 41; 1963b, p. 51, 52. Psenulus gussakovskiji: LITH 1973, Ent. Ber., p. 116. Specimens examined: 22 9 10 cf., Prov. South Pyongan, Pyongyan, Hotel garden, 7-31. VHI, 2-7. IX. 1971 (Nos. 150, 157, 162, 177, 190, 193, 225, 234, 237 and 243). Distribution: European USSR, the Ussuri region, Korea and Japan. 28. Pemphredon (Pemphredon) luguhris pacificus (Guss., 1932) Pemphredon (Pemphredon) pacificus GUSSAKOVSKIJ, 1932, p. 8; TSUNEKI, 1951, p. 179 (Korea and Japan). Pemphredon (Pemphredon) luguhris pacificus: TSUNEKI, 1963b, p. 28. Specimens examined: 1 9> Prov. Ryang-gang, Hyesan, Hotel garden, 23. VIII. 1971 (No. 193); 1 9> Prov. South Pyongan, Lyong-ak san, 25 km W from Pyongyan, 31. VHI. 1971 (No. 223). Distribution: The Ussuri region, Korea and Japan. Remarks. — In the specimens from Korea (3 additional ones in my cabinet included) the anterior produced part of the clypeus is less distinctly angulated at the lateral corners and the part is generally slightly broader than in the Japanese representatives. 29. Pemphredon (Cemonus) rugifer wesmaeli ( (MORAW., 1864) Pemphredon (Dineurus) unicolor wesmaeli: TSUNEKI, 1951, p. 194 (Japan). Pemphredon (Cemonus) unicolor wesmaeli: TSUNEKI, 1963b, 28. Specimen examined: 1 9> Prov. Ryang-gang, Hyesan, Hotel garden, 23. VIII. 1971 (No. 193). Distribution: From Europe widely distributed over the Palaeartic Region up to Hokkaido, new to Korea. Remarks. — The East Asiatic specimens of this species belong all to the socalled f. wesmaeli. This seems to indicate that at least in the region mentioned the character at the anterior margin of the clypeus is fixed as a geographic variation.. They, therefore, merit to be allocated as a subspecies. 30.
