Remarks. —• As to the relative width to the length of the abdominal petiole a. considerable difference could be observed, also as to the form seen from above. In most specimens it is parallel-sided except the anterior inclined part, but sometimes it is fairly markedly divergent posteriorly, especially in the relatively broader in­stances. But the relative length of the petiole against the hind femur or tibia is rather constant (Qrf , especially in Q ). 23. Distribution: Europe, Mongolia, Siberia, Kamchatka and Saghalien, new to Korea. Remarks. — The specimens observed retain the characters of the typical race, differing markedly from the representatives of Japan (ssp. pacifions TSUN.) in that the punctuation and striation on the head are stronger and closer, the punctures on the mesonotum are closer and more distinct and the aeneous shine is lacking on the head and thorax. 24.
