Remarks. — Thanks to the abundant material I could find out several colour forms and variations of some other characters in this species. In my previous paper, in collaboration with H. IT AMI (1973), I recorded the variation range in colour of the female of this species with the Japanese specimens and gave the conventional form names to the extremities of variations, namely, f. typica (having the propo­deum, except the area dorsalis and its nearest areas, and abdominal segment 1 wholly ferruginous) on the one hand and f. nigra (having the propodeum and abdominal segment 1 wholly black) on the other hand. Among the female specimens from Pyongyan, in addition to the two colour forms mentioned above (f. typica 62 and f. nigra 12) I could find a further third form in the female, namely, f. rufa which is as in f. typica, but with the area dorsalis and its nearest parts completely turned into ferruginous (9 Çj ). Strangely, however, there was no such intermediate colour forms among the Korean specimens as were found in the Japanese representatives between formae typica and nigra.
