Vojnits, A.: Abraxini and Semiothisini species from Mongolia (Lepidoptera, Geometridae: Ennominae)

3. Semiothisa artesiaria DENIS et SCHIFFERMÜLLER Syst. Verz., 1776, Wien, p. 195. The species, ranging from West Europe to the Far East, was hitherto unknown from Mongolia. The single specimen available is insufficient to clarify subspecific problems, but, on the basis of material collected in the area of the species, S. artesiaria is apparently not inclined to form geographical races. Collection data. Cojbalsan aimak: Somon Chalchingol, 600 m, 13. VIII. 1965 •(Nr. 409), 1 9 . Slide: No. 10.140 {çf). 4. Semiothisa clathrata djakonovi KARDAKOFF Ent. Mitt., 1926, 17: 423. The subspecies, described from the Ussuri area, of this extremely widely ranging species has been collected apart from Mongolia also in the Amur region, in North China, North Korea, Manchuria, and according to some data also in West China and North Tibet. Its main feature against the nominate subspecies is the nearly or actually meeting third and fourth transverse stripes of the forewing, the second and fourth transverse stripes being usually broader than the first and the third ones, and the basal field showing a brownish suffusion.
