Abraxini and Semiothisini Species from Mongolia (Lepidoptera, Geometridae : Ennominae)* By A. VOJNITS, Budapest Abstract — Eleven species of the tribes Abraxini and Semiothisini are shown from Mongolia; Tephrina kaszabi sp. n., and Tephrina arenacearia mongolica ssp. n. are described. — 2 figures. Eleven species of the tribes Abraxini and Semiothisini have been found in Dr. Z. KASZAB'S collections from Mongolia. The number of specimens, with special regard to some species inhabiting sztyeps, is occasionally significantly high, permitting the clarification of some subspecific problems and the description of new taxa. 1. Abraxas grossulariata dsungarica WEIIRLI (In) SFJITZ, A.: Die Gross-Schmetterlinge der Erde, Spanner, 1939, Supplement ad IV: 280-281. The size of the subspecies described from the dshungarian Ala-Tau and the Sayan Range is hardly smaller than that of the nominate subspecies, indeed, the females are occasionally of equal dimensions. However, some features of the coloration and pattern are essentially different: the yellow is not vivid but pale and flat, the black pattern reduced, the composite picture of the wing thus rather washed-out. On the forewings of the imagos representing the subspecies ranging principally in the Amur and Ussuri areas, as well as in China and Japan, the median stripe is usually broken into three sections. This feature holds for only one specimen collected by KASZAB in Mongolia, while in the other exemplars the stripe is strongly constricted. Collection data.
