On the base of NIXON'S reclassification ( 19(55) of the genus Apanteles, the new species belongs to the A. (tier group, and nearest to the cosmopolitan A. carpatus SAY. The differentiating features are as follows: propodeum without any mediotransverse keel, mesopleura lacking sternauli, stigma not broad, 3rd femur black, stigma opaque yellowish brown with a basal light spot. I dedicate this new species to my daughter. Apanteles szabói sp. n. Q (Figs. 14-17) 9 . Length 2. 7 -3 mm. Body pubescent. Head transverse, wider (between eyes) than thorax (30 : 26). Ocelli on a low triangle, hind two ocelli nearer to eyes than to each other (4:7). Eye relatively large, twice higher than wide. Inner margin of eyes strongly convergent below (Fig. 14). Cheek longer than base of mandible, mouth parts somewhat lengthened. Face, vertex, tempóra, and occiput rugulose. Antenna as long as body.
