comparatively long (43 u,). Sensillus small, clavus fusiform, only slightly incrassate, its entire surface aciculate. Notogaster. — Anterior margin also with one (the outer) pair of condyli (co. nl.) developed, median section of rim completely smooth. Entire surface ornamented with irregularly shaped and spaced foveolae. Notogaster emitting 14 pairs of notogastral setae, shaped like Ínterlamellar hair, aciculiform but weakly arcute. Notogastral fissures ih and ips situated anteriorly to hair r 3 , fissure ips transverse. Epimeral region. — Apodemes, especially ap. sej. robustly developed. Epimeres with irregularly shaped smaller to larger foveolae. Epimeral setal formula: 2—0—2—3, hairs thin but slightly roughened*. Anogenital region. — Genital plate smooth, anal plate with minute,, elongate depressions, surface otherwise foveolate, similarly to notogastral surfaceGenital, aggenital, and anal hairs flagelliform; adanal hairs, however, acicular like those of notogaster. Hair ad 3 situated anteriorly to anal opening; adanal fissures in front of hair ad 3 , nearly in a transverse position. Exterior branch of aggenital condyli (co. ag.) long, extending beyond posterior edge of genital aperture; interior branch embracing posterior margin of genital aperture. Legs. — Entire surface of all legs ornamented with granuli of various size. Tarsus of leg I with very great difference in length between solenidia w x and co 2 . Type of ultimate setae: L —L —L —L. Material examined. — 1 ex. (Holotype: 0-1259-70): No. 80-2; 1 ex. (Paratype: 0-1260-70): from locality of holotype; 1 ex. (Paratype: 0-1261-70): No. 63; 2 ex. (Paratypes: 0-1262-70): No. 50-1. Remarks. — The differentiating characters of the species are given in a Key at the end of the paper. Fissieepheus coronarius koreensis ssp. n. (Figs. 7—11) Measurements. — Length: 515 \x, breadth: 238 \i. Prodorsum: Rostrum rounded, spatium lamelliforme laterale wide, covering rostrum. Lamella long, strongly sculptured in its entire length, its proximal end considerably broadened and lobately dentate anterior to insertional points of lamellar hairs. ínterlamellar space ornamented with large foveolae. Interior pair of condyli (co. pm.) of prodorsum robustly developed, larger than exterior ones and connected by a chitinous bridge. Rostral setae slightly longer and thinner than very arcuate lamellar hairs. ínterlamellar hair (38 u.) somewhat incrassate, spatulate, strongly aciculate. Exobothridial setae (22 u,) straight, thin. Sensillus clavate, the calyciform clavus with thick, spiniform appendages around its rirm Notogaster. — Condyli, especially inner pair (co. nm.) of anterior notogastral margin smaller than the similar formations of prodorsum. Notogastral surface sparsely foveolate; foveolae smaller than those in Ínterlamellar region. All dorsal hairs spatulate, slightly widened, obtuse; margins and surface aciculate. No essential difference in length between hairs (36—40 fx). Epimeral and anogenital regions agreeing in every respect with those of the nominate subspecies described by AOKI, excepting epimeral setal formula, given as * In his excellent paper, AOKI (2) submitted clearly defined technical terms; wherever possible, I applied them.
