The nodal series is robust, sparse, stronger even than that of H. falcatus, resembling mostly that of H. pylorus. Owing to the incomplete fragment and the absence of sutures, it cannot be studied in detail. Fam.: Brancoceralidae SPATH, 1933. Genus: Mortoniceras MISEK, 1876. Subgenus: Durnovarites SPATH, 1932. Mortoniceras (Durnovarites) perinflatum (SPATH) (Plate IV, Fig. 7) 1859. Ammonites inflatus SOWERBY, PICTET et GAMP., p. 178, pi. 21, figs. 5a, b, pi. 22, figs. 3a, b. 1933. Mortoniceras (Durnovarites) perinflatum (SPATH), p. 430, pi. 40, fig. 2; text fig. 150. 1968. Alortoniceras (Durnovarites) perinflatum (SPATH) — RENZ, p. 51, pl. 8, figs. 3a, b, 5a, c, 8a, b, pi. 9, fig. la, b, 2a, b ; text fig. 17a, 18c, 19c, f. Examined material: Partly shelled stone molds of 24 specimens. Localities: Pénzeskút, K 2 ; Bakonynána, B; Tés, M; Olaszfalu, V; Jásd, Z. Description : Whorl cross section rather high, width hardly greater than altitude. Umbilical diameter rather large, umbilical margin steep but rounded. The two nodes on the ventro-lateral margin are discernible, that on the umbilical margin is also rather robust, but the one on the lateral part is more obsolescent. Ribs curving on the sulci accompanying ventral crista proclinate. Remarks: The specimens are of various size, the suturai system cannot be studied. The base of the lappet is present on the specimen M. 63.1896! Occurrence: England (Upper Greensand, dispar zone); France (Upper Vraconnian); Switzerland (Vraconnian, together with S. dispar); Angola. Mortoniceras (Durnovarites) postinflatum SPATH (Plate IV, Figs. 5, 6, 8) 1933. Mortoniceras (Durnovarites) postinflatum SPATH, p. 433, pi. 40, figs. 5a—b. Examined material: Two specimens from Pénzeskút, K 2 . D = 66 and 24, A = 21, Lt = 26, D-U = 23 and 21. Description: Whorl wider than high. Ventral crista low, ventral side with proclinately decurrent ribs. Umbilicus wide, lobal elements agreeing with the type. Remarks: The whorl width grows more rapidly than in the species perinflatum. Occurrence: England (Upper Greensand, dispar zone); France (Upper Vraconnian). Mortoniceras (Durnovarites) sp. Remarks: The available specimens can be relegated to the species-group of the above subgenus. A nearer identification is impossible owing to the bad state of preservation. Localities: Bakonynána, B, G; Olaszfalu, V; Tés, M.
